Beloit Man Sentenced to Five Years on Heroin Charge

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
August 4, 2011

Madison, Wis. - John W. Vaudreuil, United States Attorney for the Western District of Wisconsin, announced that Carlos Ford, 45, of Beloit, Wis., was sentenced yesterday by Chief U.S. District Judge William M. Conley to 60 months in federal prison, to be followed by three years of supervised release, for possession of heroin with intent to distribute. Ford pleaded guilty to this charge on May 31, 2011.

The charge against Carlos Ford was the result of an investigation conducted by the Rock County Safe Streets Task Force after Ford was stopped by investigators in Beloit during August and November 2011 and found to be in possession of substantial amounts of heroin packaged for sale. The prosecution of the case has been handled by Assistant U.S. Attorney Robert A. Anderson.
